SRC Suspends Zimbabwe Netball Association President Amid Administrative Challenges

The Sports and Recreation Commission (SRC) has announced the immediate suspension of Zimbabwe Netball Association (ZINA) President Mrs Leticia Chipandu, citing administrative challenges and governance issues within the national netball structure.

The suspension, effective immediately, is in accordance with Section 30(1)(c)(i) as read with Section 19(a), (b), and (c) and paragraph 23 of the second schedule of the Sports and Recreation Act (Chapter 25:15). This suspension will remain in place until the next ZINA elections are held.

The decision follows an SRC investigation that uncovered significant challenges in the administration and governance of ZINA, raising concerns about the leadership and strategic direction of the sport. The suspension aims to facilitate the restoration of proper governance and accountability within Zimbabwe’s netball structures.

The SRC emphasized its commitment to ensuring that sports administration in the country adheres to principles of transparency, accountability, and professionalism.
