
HARARE – The Institute of African Knowledge (INSTAK) has extended warm congratulations to the people of the Russian Federation and His Excellency President Vladimir Putin on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
In a statement issued on May 8, 2025, INSTAK Chairman, Ambassador Professor Simbi V. Mubako, joined the Board of Trustees, Chief Executive Officer Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi, and the entire INSTAK team in paying tribute to the enduring legacy of Russia’s contribution to global freedom and African liberation.
“Your resilience, dedication and determination during the War resulted in your victory, which not only affirmed your sovereignty but laid the foundation for international solidarity in the fight against oppression,” read the statement. “We are thrilled to celebrate this historic anniversary with you.”
INSTAK also recognized the Russian Federation’s historical support for African liberation movements, particularly during the decolonization era. “Your undeniable footprint in the liberation history of Africa remains etched in our collective memory. The assistance rendered by Russia to African nations remains a cornerstone of our shared history and values.”
Ambassador Mubako reaffirmed INSTAK’s commitment to strengthening the spirit of brotherhood, cultural cooperation, and mutual respect between Africa and the Russian Federation. “We wish you continued success and prosperity as we forge ahead together.”
