Chivhu-Nyazura Road Accident Victims Identified

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has released the names of five victims involved in the Chivhu-Nyazura road accident that occurred on October 24, 2025, at the 73-kilometre mark.

A haulage truck carrying a load of cement collided with a Toyota Hiace vehicle that had twelve passengers on board. The Hiace was struck from behind by the truck, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, including the driver. Eight others sustained various injuries and were transported to Murambinda Hospital for treatment.

The names of the deceased are as follows: – Takunda McGregor Ndoro (29), the kombi driver from Mt. Pleasant Heights, Harare – Juliet Chikasha (58) from Southlea Park, Harare – Juliet Makunike (25) from Burma Valley, Mutare – Taurai Manyewu (51) from Epworth – Muzonda Marumbei (94) from Nyamande Village, Buhera.

In a separate incident, two people died at the scene of an accident at the 192-kilometer mark along the Harare-Masvingo road. The driver of a Nissan Caravan carrying seven passengers lost control and veered off the road, causing the vehicle to overturn twice. Four others were injured, and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.

The police are urging motorists to exercise caution on the country’s roads to prevent unnecessary loss of life.
