Speaker Terminates Mutodi’s Committee Leadership

Speaker of Parliament Advocate Jacob Francis Nzwidamilimo Mudenda has terminated the tenure of Bikita South legislator, Honourable Dr. Energy Mutodi, as Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Budget, Finance and Investment Promotion with immediate effect.

In a letter dated 7 October 2025, Advocate Mudenda, who also chairs the Committee on Standing Rules and Orders (CSRO), cited Standing Order No. 19 of the National Assembly as the basis for the decision.

The Speaker instructed that all benefits and entitlements linked to the position be discontinued forthwith.

The communication was copied to Government Chief Whip Honourable Pupurai Togarepi and Clerk of Parliament Mr. Kennedy M. Chokuda.
