Mutangadura owned a string of businesses in Ruwa, including Mutangaz Hideout, Mutangaz Panyama and Lisheen Estate.

National police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi in a statement said:
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating cases of murder and robbery which occured at a farm along Dustain Road, Ruwa”.

In a statement , the Zimbabwe Republic Police ( ZRP) noted that the robbery occured on the 17th of August 2025 at around 2300hours where a businessman , Joseph Mutangadura who was 67 years was shot dead during a suspected robbery incident.

Commissioner Paul Nyathi said, “seven unknown suspects who were armed with unidentified pistols , claw bars and hammers while covering their faces with balaclavas pounced at the business premises”.

“The suspects forced the security guard and the victim’s son to lie down in the dining room while proceeding to the room where the victim was sleeping with his wife”, a statement said.

” The victim and his wife who were both unconscious were rushed to Eden Hospital,Windsor in Ruwa were the victim was pronounced dead upon arrival”, added Commissioner Nyathi.
