Stalemate at Rufaro as Herentials hold Dynamos

Harare giants Dynamos (Dembare) endured another frustrating afternoon at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday, as they were held to a goalless draw by Herentals, marking their second consecutive Premier Soccer League (PSL) match without scoring.

Despite creating several chances, Dembare’s strikers struggled to break through a well-organized Herentals defense. Frank Agyemang and Tellmore Pio both saw their efforts denied by the woodwork, with Pio putting in an impressive shift in midfield.

Dynamos returnee Abel Gwatidzo nearly broke the deadlock with a well-taken free kick just outside the penalty box, but Herentals goalkeeper Takudzwa Chikosi pulled off a crucial save, punching the ball over the bar.

At the other end, Tinotenda Benza showed great energy on the left flank, delivering a dangerous cross after beating his marker. However, Lot Chungwa was slow to react, failing to convert what seemed like a simple tap-in opportunity.

Dynamos coach Lloyd “Mablanyo” Chigowe acknowledged his team’s struggles, stating that improvement takes time but expressing confidence in their progress.

Herentals coach also admitted the match was challenging but was satisfied with securing a point against Dynamos.

“The game was not easy, but we managed to get a point, which is a good result. Dynamos created many chances, and we were fortunate they didn’t capitalize.”

Dynamos now shift their focus to their next match, hoping to rediscover their scoring touch.
