Zimbabwe-Belarus Tax Agreement Gazetted to Boost Trade and Cooperation

President Mnangagwa has officially gazetted Zimbabwe’s tax agreement with Belarus, finalizing a deal aimed at preventing double taxation and tax evasion. The agreement, concluded in January 2023, was published under Statutory Instrument 18 of 2025.

The pact regulates tax relations between the two nations, fostering trade and economic cooperation on mutually beneficial terms. It follows last year’s inaugural session of the Zimbabwe-Belarus Joint Permanent Commission on Cooperation (JPCC), which resulted in multiple agreements and commercial contracts.

Zimbabwe and Belarus continue to strengthen ties across various sectors, including mining, agriculture, infrastructure, and innovation. Belarus has already supplied Zimbabwe with critical machinery, including tractors and earth-moving equipment.

Through ongoing diplomatic and economic engagements between President Mnangagwa and Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko, the two countries are solidifying their strategic partnership.
