Unity and Vision 2030 Central to National Development – Acting President

Acting President Constantino Chiwenga has assured Zimbabweans that the government is addressing key national challenges, including unreliable public transport, unregulated informal markets, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

Speaking at the burial of National Hero Cde Justin Mupamhanga at the National Heroes Acre in Harare, the Acting President emphasized the importance of unity and collective effort in overcoming these issues.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving public transport and infrastructure, increasing production, and promoting value addition and rural industrialization. He also condemned corruption, calling for fair distribution of national wealth and alignment with the values of the liberation struggle.

The Acting President reiterated Zimbabwe’s goal of becoming an upper-middle-income economy by 2030, stressing that development must include all citizens, particularly marginalized communities. He urged Zimbabweans to uphold the principles of the liberation struggle by fostering national unity and ensuring inclusive progress.

Cde Mupamhanga, a veteran civil servant and liberation war hero, played a critical role in shaping Zimbabwe’s economic policies, energy sector reforms, and food security strategies. His contributions included restructuring ZESA, attracting foreign direct investment, and leading key government initiatives.

Acting President Chiwenga called on the nation to honor Mupamhanga’s legacy by working towards national development, good governance, and equitable economic growth.
