
ZANU PF Harare Province Chaiperson, Cde Godwin Masimirembwa has called for intensified grassroots mobilisation and stronger party structures as the revolutionary party seeks to consolidate its presence and dominance in Harare Province.
He said the province has been entrusted by President and First Secretary of ZANU PF, His Excellency President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, with the responsibility of ensuring that the party becomes the dominant political force in the capital city.

Addressing party members, Cde Masimirembwa said Harare carries a strategic responsibility within the party’s broader political framework and must contribute significantly towards strengthening ZANU PF’s electoral position ahead of future political contests.

He stressed that the province has a duty to contribute towards the party’s national objectives through securing victories across Harare’s constituencies.
“As a province, we have a duty to contribute by winning constituencies, which are 30,” he said.
Cde Masimirembwa noted that ZANU PF remains the country’s dominant political party and called on members to continue building robust structures capable of supporting the party’s growth and mobilisation agenda.
“We have been entrusted by His Excellency to become dominant here in Harare Province. As Harare, we must contribute positively,” he said.
The provincial leader urged party members to remain active at grassroots level, emphasising that strong and functional structures remain the foundation of a vibrant and effective political organisation.
“Our main focus is to strengthen party structures. Let us all go out there and continue building party structures,” he added.
Cde Masimirembwa further highlighted National Cell Day as the key focus for the current month, describing party cells as the foundation upon which the organisation’s mobilisation, recruitment and community engagement efforts are built.
He also underscored the supervisory role played by members of the Central Committee in guiding and strengthening provincial activities.
“This month’s mantra is to focus on National Cell Day. Members of the Central Committee are our supervisors,” he said.
Turning to membership growth, Cde Masimirembwa challenged the province to significantly expand its support base, setting an ambitious target of 600,000 members in Harare Province.
He said achieving the membership target would strengthen the party’s structures, increase grassroots participation and reinforce ZANU PF’s position within the province.
“We need 600,000 members in this province and ZANU PF must be the dominant political party in Harare Province,” said Cde Masimirembwa.
His remarks come as the party continues to intensify organisational development programmes aimed at strengthening structures from cell level upwards, with emphasis on mobilisation, recruitment and grassroots participation as key pillars of party growth and sustainability.
