In an exclusive interview, Busai Blessings Sithole, Epiroc’s Business Development Manager (Capital Equi, emphasized the company’s focus on minimizing equipment downtime and optimizing opperational efficiency. To achieve this, Epiroc offers specialized technical support, allowing customers to choose between frequent site visits from technicians or having a dedicated team stationed on-site for continuous maintenance and troubleshooting.

Beyond technical support, the company has introduced flexible spare parts and service solutions. Through VMI warehouse assistant, Epiroc ensures that essential spare parts, consumables, and tools are stocked at customer sites, eliminating procurement delays and enabling seamless operations. These stocked parts are invoiced based on agreed terms, usually on a monthly basis, though customers also have the option of ad-hoc purchases.

A major beneficiary of Epiroc’s enhanced services is Zimplats, Zimbabwe’s largest platinum mining company and Epiroc’s biggest client in the country.

With roots in Atlas Copco’s Mining and Rock Excavation division, Epiroc was formed to deliver cutting-edge mining solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, innovation, and sustainability. The company’s name, derived from Greek and Latin, means “at or on rock”, symbolizing its core business and unwavering focus on the mining industry.
