Lower sixth classes start next Monday

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education has announced that lower sixth (form five) classes will commence on Monday the 27 January 2024.

The Ministry advised stakeholders through a statement.

“The commencement date for the 2025 lower sixth classes is Monday, the 27th of January 2025. Please ensure that all Heads of schools, teachers, parents and the pupils are advised of this date,” read the statement by the Primary and Secondary Education permanent secretary Moses Mhike.

The Ministry advised that school fees will be paid on a pro-rata basis to the approved term One fees for each school.

The 2024 ordinary level pass rate at 33.19 percent broke a decades old record marking a turnaround in the country’s education sector. In 2023 the country recorded 29.41 percent while 28.96 percent in 2022.
