President gazettes Exec appointments

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has gazetted the appointment the Vice Presidents and members of Cabinet that he constituted soon after winning his second term in the August 23 harmonised elections.

The gazetting of the appointment of members of the Executive is meant to give legal effect to their roles as is spelt out in the national Constitution which is the supreme law of the land.

In General Notice 1925 of 2023, President gazetted the appointment and assignment of functions of Vice Presidents, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Office of the President and Cabinet, Permanent Secretaries and Secretaries for Provincial Affairs and Devolution.

“It is hereby notified that His Excellency the President has (a) in terms of Section 92 as read with paragraph 14 of the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, appointed the Vice Presidents in the first column of the First Schedule and assigned to them the designation and administration of the office opposite their names in the second column of that Schedule.

“In terms of section 105 (1), of the Constitution, appointed the Ministers listed in the first column of the Part I of the Second Schedule and assigned to them the designations and administration of the Ministries specified opposite their names in the second column of that Schedule,” reads the gazette.
