Saruchera, a veteran coach, said Chibunyu, who was their captain and Manhurukure, were valuable players that were going to help them fight the dreaded chop.

“It was so painful to lose the two players. They were our key players and with no doubt they were going to help us to fight relegation. However, we will soldier on.

“We are in the right direction and I must say in the second half of the season we are very dangerous. Cranborne Bullets is here to stay,” said Saruchera.

Last season, Saruchera and his boys had a strong second stanza display that saw them escape relegation.

It was a season in which Chibunyu  emerged as the club’s top goal scorer with 10 goals.

Manhurukure also had fine performances for the army side.

In the first half of the 2023 season, the defensive midfielder won the admiration of Caps United technical team after he scored a winner for Bullets when the two sides met in a game they prevailed with a 2-1 scoreline.

After 20 games that have been played so far this season, Cranborne Bullets are second from the bottom with 18 points, three ahead of bottom placed Black Rhinos.

Bullets have won four games, drawn six and lost 10.
