Biblical Clarity: Rev Wiseman Musande on Homosexuality and God’s Design

By Rev Wiseman Musande

In today’s increasingly diverse society, opinions on homosexuality vary widely. As a pastor grounded in Biblical principles, I feel compelled to provide a clear perspective on this issue.

The Bible, which I believe is the inspired Word of God, provides guidance on human relationships and moral conduct. Leviticus 18:22 states, “Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” This passage is clear in its prohibition of homosexual acts.

The New Testament also addresses this issue. In Romans 1:26-27, the Apostle Paul writes, “Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. In the same way, the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.” This passage further reinforces the Bible’s prohibition of homosexual behavior.

The Biblical framework for relationships is built upon the complementary union of male and female. Genesis 2:24 states, “That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.” This verse highlights God’s design for marriage and sexual relations, which emphasizes procreation, mutual support, and the harmonious partnership between genders.

It is crucial to understand that these scriptures are part of a broader narrative that upholds the sanctity of heterosexual marriage. The Bible’s position on homosexuality is not rooted in hatred but in a profound understanding of the human person and divine order.

As a pastor, it is my duty to guide christians in living according to Biblical principles. This includes addressing moral issues with compassion and clarity. While the Bible’s teachings are clear. Christianity is about redemption and grace for all who seek it. John 3:16 states, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

In conclusion, while contemporary society may shift its views, the eternal truths found in Scripture provide a steadfast foundation. As a community of faith, we must remain committed to these truths, guiding our actions and beliefs with love and integrity, while upholding Biblical standards.
