2023 harmonised elections in full swing as Nomination courts sit

As the 2023 harmonised elections draw closer, the The Nomination Court sit this Wednesday for the purpose of registering candidates to participate in the elections.

President Mnangagwa proclaimed the 23rd of August as the date of the poll and Wednesday the 21st June 2023 as the date of sitting of the nomination court. October the 2nd was set as the date of the run-off in the event such an election is necessary.

The registration is for candidates for the Presidential, House of Assembly, Senate (women and youth quota) and Metropolitan Provincial councils as well as local authorities.

The fees for one to participate in the nomination process have been pegged as follows:

Presidential Candidates – US$20,000.00

Parliament Candidates – US$1 000

Political parties will pay US$200 per list at provincial magistrate courts to register aspiring Senators (women and youth quota) and Metropolitan Provincial councils.

Payment of the nomination fees can be done in Zimbabwean dollars at the prevailing bank rate. Successful candidates will proceed to participate in the elections.
