PSL league season start deferred

THE 2024 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) has deferred the start of the 2024 season to the 9th of March 2024.

The change has been necessitated by the need to ensure there are adequate stadia to host PSL matches

The PSL hopes that by the time the season kicks off, the Zimbabwe Football Association’s First Instance Board (FIB) would have approved more match venues.

The PSL advised stakeholders in a statement by the Premier Soccer League Media Liaison Officer, Kudzai Bare.

“All stakeholders are advised that the 2024 Castle Lager PSL championship will commence on the 9th of March 2024.

This has been necessitated by the need to ensure that we have safe, secure adequate venues to host Castle Lager PSL matches,” reads the statement.

The First Instance Board (FIB) is carrying inspections of stadia around the country to certify that they are compliant to set requirements to host PSL matches.

The nation await the kick off of the PSL and the expectation is that more match venues will be approved.

Last season some teams played their home games away due to lack of stadia.
