During the period 2018-2022 as presented by the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs and Monitored Implementation of Government Programmes, Honorable Dr J M Gumbo, the projects implemented in the provinces reflect the government’s commitment to deliver on its promises of improving the livelihoods of the populace in line with the developmental trajectory of leaving no one and no place behind,” he said.

Among the key projects the government is undertaking is the construction of dams, with Gwayi Shangani Lake among the flagship projects in Matabeleland.

The Beitbridge-Chirundu highway is also among the priorities of the Second Republic with over 400 kilometres now open to motorists.

The rehabilitation of the Bulawayo-Victoria Falls Highway is also underway.

Turning to health matters, Honourable Muswere reported that the cabinet declared a state of emergency for the New Lines Area in Mbare after a fact-finding mission that confirmed the sanitary situation in the suburb as dire and in need of urgent intervention.
