The Zimbabwe Warriors training camp has ended after a rigorous four day session.

The team went into camp to allow the newly appointed Warriors coach Baltemar Brito an opportunity to assess players ahead of the World Cup qualifiers to be held in November.

The training camp ended this Monday.

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) advised the nation on X formerly twitter.

“The 4-day Warriors training camp organised to give Warriors coach Baltemar Brito an opportunity to assess players ahead of World Cup qualifiers in November ended on Monday”.

Twenty players were in camp.

The warriors played a friendly match against a Northern region soccer league select side. They were penciled to play Botswana in another friendly but failed due to unforeseen circumstances.

This was a second initiative organised by the association and the Warriors technical team to give as many players as possible a chance to audition for a place in Brito’s team for the World Cup qualifiers.

The warriors next assignment is in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda (A) and Nigeria (H) to be played between 13 and 21 November 2023.

Players who were in camp are:

Goalkeepers: Washington Arubi, Godknows Gurure

Defenders: Munashe Garananga, Ronald Pfumbidzai, Peter Muduhwa, Godknows Murwira, Divine Lunga, Xolani Ndlovu, Frank Makarati

Midfielders: Tatenda Tavengwa, Tanaka Shandirwa, Never Tigere, Phenias Bamusi, Takunda Benhura, Gerald Bero, Shepherd Mhlanga, Sylvastar Munhira, Bret Amidu

Forwards: Obriel Chirinda, Knox Mutizwa
