Tanganda Tea Company Limited is set to make a significant move in its history, seeking shareholder approval to delist from the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) and list on the Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX). This strategic decision aims to align the company’s listing currency with its dollarised, export-driven business model, which has been in operation since 1924.
The Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) scheduled for November 13, 2026, will see shareholders voting on the proposed transaction, which includes three key resolutions: delisting from the ZSE, listing on the VFEX, and authorizing directors to implement the resolutions. If approved, the company will terminate its listing on the ZSE and list on the VFEX, marking a new chapter in its growth story.
The VFEX listing is expected to bring numerous benefits, including lower trading costs, tax incentives for foreign shareholders, and enhanced liquidity. According to Tanganda’s chairman, Addington Bexley Chikomborero Chinake, this move is a strategic response to the evolving economic landscape, emphasizing the importance of aligning with the company’s financial realities.
The proposed migration is seen as a positive step for Tanganda, with the company recommending that shareholders vote in favor of the resolutions. The transition to VFEX is expected to provide a platform tailored for US dollar-denominated transactions, reduced transaction costs, and a focus on growth, sustainability, and a flourishing future.
The company’s future looks promising, with a strong heritage and a commitment to its stakeholders. The move to VFEX is seen as a key step in Tanganda’s continued growth and success.
