Former pace setters Highlanders football club (Bosso) added more misery to Yadah Football Club (Yadah) better known as the Miracle Boys yesterday at Barbourfields stadium as they emerged 2 nil victors.
Highlanders managed to end their 3 win less games run with this victory.
The club team put aside last week’s disturbances to comfortably beat visiting Yadah. Last week in a match against Dynamos the match officials had to call off the game after Highlanders Supporters stormed the pitch and caused havoc.
Most supporters stayed at home fearing a repeat of disturbances of the last week. A sizeable crowd watched the game from the terraces.
It was arguably the the lowest crowd that Bosso has recorded this season.
The first goal of the match came in the 34th minute when Mbongeni Ndhlovu made use of Mckinon’s cross from the left flank and made it 1 nil for the hosts.
Highlanders made some changes in their matchday squad.
Andrew Mbeba was drafted at the heart of defence partnering Peter Muduwa at the while Mbongeni was deployed to the left back.
Washington Navaya was introduced as a late second half substitute. He justified why he was thrown into the fray by putting the final nail into the Yadah coffin.
He beat Yadah goalkeeper Marshal all systems out and made sure Bosso collect maximum points.
The Bosso win left them sitting on second position on the log standing with 44 points. They are a point behind leaders Ngezi Platinum Star who are on top of the log with 45 points.
Bosso coach Brito was left a relieved man after his side bounced back into winning ways. The result was due to hard work on the part of everyone involved.
Yadah coach Takaendesa Jongwe blamed his boys for not coming to the party.
He said the better team always won the game.
“Bosso was much better than us. We had our chances but we could not manage to use them and get punished for that.
It is us who had the first meaningful attack but our Jerry Chipaangura had other ideas. He missed a sitter inside the penalty box after getting a killer pass from Zindoga.
Well all I can say is it was not our day today. Yadah has to thank their goalkeeper who had a busy day in office.
They were well prepared for this encounter.
