HARARE – ZANU PF Harare Province has intensified its campaign to reclaim political dominance in the capital, with senior party leaders unveiling an aggressive grassroots mobilisation strategy centred on expanding party structures, increasing parliamentary representation and consolidating support for President His Excellency Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 development agenda.

Book NowAddressing party leaders and cadres at the DCC 4 Inter-District Meeting as Guest of Honour, ZANU PF Harare Province Chairman Cde Advocate Godwills Masimirembwa “Nyamasvisva” declared that the province must transform itself into an undisputed ZANU PF stronghold capable of delivering decisive electoral victories.
“We need to make ZANU PF Harare Province a stronghold. We need to be dominant,” said the Provincial Chairman.
He said Harare Province carries a strategic responsibility in national politics, stressing that increasing the number of ZANU PF Members of Parliament from the capital remains critical to strengthening the party’s voice in Parliament and advancing Government programmes.
“Our Members of Parliament work hand in hand with the President. If we do not have MPs from Harare Province, there is nowhere we are going. We must reclaim every constituency and strengthen our representation,” he said.
The Provincial Chairman challenged every district to intensify grassroots mobilisation by establishing more cells and districts while deepening engagement with communities.
“We need to create more cells, establish more districts and remain close to the people we lead. The strength of the party begins at cell level,” he said.
He described the Commissariat Department as the engine that sustains the party’s organisational structures and urged members to reject factionalism and internal divisions.
“We need to kill the jealousy syndrome in ZANU PF. Unity, Peace and Development must not simply remain our motto, but become our way of life,” he said.
Cde Advocate Masimirembwa welcomed the enactment of the Constitutional Amendment Act No. 3, describing it as a significant constitutional milestone and reaffirming the party’s confidence in President Mnangagwa, whom he described as a constitutionalist committed to national development.
He also called for continued review of the party constitution to ensure it remains responsive to the evolving needs of the revolutionary movement.
On economic empowerment, the Provincial Chairman said programmes spearheaded by businessman Dr. Kudakwashe Tagwirei would be coordinated through the ZANU PF Headquarters under the office of the Treasurer General, Cde Patrick Chinamasa, to ensure structured implementation.
Harare Provincial Political Commissar Cde Voyage Dambuza “Lord Sugar” commended Cde Advocate Masimirembwa for providing decisive leadership, saying Harare Province was entering a new phase of organisational growth.
“Politics is a game of numbers,” said the Political Commissar, urging every district to intensify recruitment into the revolutionary party.
He directed structures to expand party districts in strategic constituencies, citing Mt Pleasant, where he said the party should establish between 13 and 15 districts to improve electoral competitiveness.
Cde Dambuza also announced that comprehensive branch-level roll calls would soon be conducted across all constituencies to verify membership registers and strengthen party structures.
“A good church is known by the number of its congregants. Likewise, a strong revolutionary party is measured by the strength of its structures and membership,” he said.
He urged members to remain vigilant against acts of subversion and reiterated that demonstrations do not contribute to national development.
DCC 4 Chairman Cde Karoro reminded party leaders that they are ambassadors of ZANU PF and must inspire confidence within the communities they serve. He noted that DCC 4 comprises four constituencies whose structures must continue to grow.
Representatives from the War Veterans League reassured members that Government remains committed to the issuance of title deeds under President Mnangagwa’s policy of leaving no one and no place behind, while the Women’s League called on members to strengthen unity, love and mutual respect throughout the party.
Harare Provincial Youth League Chairman Cde Emmanuel Mahachi described young people as the vanguard of the revolutionary party and encouraged them to embrace entrepreneurship as a pathway to economic empowerment.
He urged Zimbabweans to reject calls for demonstrations on July 31, saying peace, productivity and business should continue uninterrupted.
“The youth must be business-minded. Let us reject anarchy, build enterprises and contribute towards the achievement of Vision 2030,” he said.
The meeting concluded with renewed commitment from party leaders to strengthen grassroots structures, expand membership, reclaim parliamentary and local authority seats in Harare, and consolidate support for ZANU PF as the province positions itself to play a leading role in advancing the country’s development agenda beyond 2030.
