Jumbo Giants Continue Fine Form with Convincing Home Victory

Jumbo Giants continued their impressive resurgence under coach Arthur Tutani with a commanding 3-0 victory over MWOS U19 FC at Jumbo Mine Stadium on Saturday.

The win extended Tutani’s unbeaten start since taking charge of the club, taking his tally to seven points from three matches following a 2-1 away victory over Zambezi Coal & Gas and a 1-1 draw against FC Oden.

Jumbo Giants took control early in the encounter when Dylan Nyoni opened the scoring in the 11th minute. The hosts maintained their dominance and doubled their advantage seven minutes into the second half through Panashe Kamayani.

With MWOS U19 struggling to find a way back into the match, defender Fungai Murapa sealed the victory in spectacular fashion with a late strike in the 88th minute.

The result coincides with a positive period for the club following the arrival of new financiers, Cuttabove, and the appointment of Tutani, whose influence continues to yield encouraging results.

Victory lifted Jumbo Giants to ninth position in the 22-team league standings with 23 points, leaving them eight points behind log leaders Black Rhinos.

Speaking after the match, Tutani expressed satisfaction with his team’s performance but insisted there was still work to be done.

“It was a very good game. Both teams played very well and fortunately the best team on the day collected three points. I am happy that we are collecting points both on the road and at home, which is a very good sign that there is improvement. But the work is not yet done; it is not over until it is over,” said Tutani.

Jumbo Giants will now turn their attention to their next assignment, an away fixture against bottom-placed Marere FC at Rimuka Stadium in Kadoma.
