Retired senior military officer Brigadier General Donald Silundi Tshuma has died at the age of 71, the Zimbabwe National Army has confirmed.
In a statement released on Monday, Commander Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi, said Brigadier General (Retired) Tshuma passed away on May 15, 2026, at his home in Nkulumane 12 suburb in Bulawayo.
During the liberation struggle, the late Brigadier General Tshuma was known by his Chimurenga name, “Henry Silundi.”
“The Commander Zimbabwe National Army, Lieutenant General Asher Walter Tapfumaneyi, is saddened to announce the untimely death of Brigadier General (Retired) Donald Silundi Tshuma,” reads part of the statement.
The Zimbabwe National Army said funeral and burial arrangements will be announced in due course.
