The initiative was widely praised by participants, who described it as a timely intervention in addressing the growing challenge of drug and substance abuse among youths in Goromonzi. Many expressed appreciation for Honourable Minister Emily Jesaya’s efforts, noting that the tournament is reaching different communities and creating positive engagement platforms.
“This tournament is helping us stay focused and away from drugs. It gives us something meaningful to do,” one participant said.
Teams also acknowledged the opportunity to showcase their talent. Gift’s Academy Soccer Team commended the Honourable Minister for recognizing and including them in the tournament, highlighting the importance of such platforms in nurturing young talent.
