The Premier Soccer League (PSL) and Highlanders Football Club are in mourning following the tragic loss of seven supporters who were involved in a fatal road accident on Friday evening. The supporters were returning from a league match against FC Platinum at Barbourfields Stadium in Bulawayo when the accident occurred along the Bulawayo–Gwanda highway.
The PSL expressed its deepest condolences to the families, friends, and loved ones of the deceased, acknowledging the immense loss suffered by the Highlanders community. “The Premier Soccer League is deeply saddened by the untimely passing of seven Highlanders FC supporters who tragically lost their lives in a traffic accident,” read the statement.
Highlanders FC also released a statement mourning the loss of its supporters, extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. “Highlanders FC extends its deepest sympathies to the families, friends, and loved ones of the seven supporters who tragically lost their lives on Friday evening,” the club said.
