Zimbabwe used the platform to advocate for reforms within the global financial architecture, calling for a more equitable system that supports developing nations. The address also highlighted the growing importance of innovation, particularly artificial intelligence, as a catalyst for economic transformation and industrialisation.

In a diplomatic tone reflecting Zimbabwe’s expanding global outreach, President Mnangagwa expressed appreciation for the support received from engagements in the Pacific and Caribbean regions. He acknowledged the continued mobilisation of backing by partner states ahead of 3 June 2026, a critical date linked to Zimbabwe’s international ambitions.

Central to the address was Zimbabwe’s foreign policy doctrine of being a “friend to all and an enemy to none,” a principle that continues to guide its re engagement strategy on the global stage. This approach was further reinforced by Zimbabwe’s bid for a non permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the 2027 to 2028 term.

The summit appearance reflects Zimbabwe’s intent to reposition itself within the Global South, leveraging historical alliances while pursuing modern economic partnerships. It also signals a broader diplomatic thrust aimed at securing strategic influence, fostering cooperation and advancing national development priorities within an evolving international order.
