Harare — A major cultural convergence is set for 4 April 2026 as Gateway Stream Media, in partnership with Massive Events and Roughmix, hosts the Afro Culture Connect concert at the Harare International Conference Centre, bringing together Zimbabwean and Jamaican musical excellence in a landmark showcase.
Headlined by Jah Prayzah and Alaine, the event, themed “A Tale of Two Cities,” is positioned as more than a concert, but a deliberate cultural bridge linking Africa and the Caribbean through music, identity and shared heritage.
Organisers say the showcase reflects the deep historical and cultural connections between Zimbabwe and Jamaica, with audiences expected to experience a fusion of African rhythms and reggae influences in a high-energy production. Supporting acts including Feli Nandi, Xiba, Nisha T, Kadjah, Volts JT, Ninety6, Raymar, Ngwere Diki and Kadiki are set to amplify the night’s diverse musical offering, alongside MCs and DJs who will drive the atmosphere.
Gateway Stream Media Manager Mr Elton Kurima said the concert has been carefully curated to deliver a premium entertainment experience while strengthening cultural exchange.
“The event will showcase two outstanding headline acts, Zimbabwe’s music superstar Jah Prayzah and Jamaican reggae sensation Alaine, supported by a dynamic line-up of local performers,” he said. “This is about celebrating unity through music and creating a platform that connects cultures.”
The pairing of Jah Prayzah’s signature Zimbabwean sound, rooted in tradition yet globally adaptable, with Alaine’s soulful reggae and lovers rock style, signals a strategic blending of musical identities aimed at broadening audience appeal and deepening cross-cultural appreciation.
Beyond the stage, the event is also shaping up as a significant commercial and tourism driver. Strong early demand has already seen early bird tickets sell out, with phased ticket pricing now in effect. Organisers have further integrated hospitality into the experience, offering accommodation packages at the Rainbow Towers Hotel and Conference Centre and New Ambassador Hotel to enhance convenience for attendees.
