Harare – The burial of Brigadier General (Rtd) Samuel Mpabanga at the National Heroes Acre drew not only senior government officials and liberation war veterans, but also affiliate organisations aligned with the ruling party’s development agenda.
Among those present was Fathers 4 Economic Development (ED), led by National Chairman Cde Reason Zinyama. The group joined mourners in paying respects to the late national hero, while also using the occasion to reaffirm support for the Government’s Vision 2030 development blueprint.
Cde Zinyama held discussions with Godwills Masimirembwa, Chairman of ZANU PF Harare Province, describing the interaction as progressive and forward-looking. The engagement highlighted the role affiliate structures continue to play in mobilising grassroots support around national development programmes.
“I just want to thank President Emmerson Mnangagwa for Vision 2030 and empowering us also as affiliates,” Zinyama said, emphasizing the organisation’s commitment to economic participation and community mobilisation.
Other affiliate groups present at the burial included Sisters 4 ED, Hairdressers 4 ED, and Youngwomen 4 ED, reflecting a coordinated presence of party-aligned civic formations at national events. Their attendance underscores the continued intersection between liberation history commemorations and contemporary political mobilisation.
The burial ceremony, officiated by President Mnangagwa, served as both a solemn national tribute and a platform reinforcing unity, loyalty, and development-focused messaging under the Second Republic.
In addition, Father Allan Chimbetu was acknowledged for attending the burial, joining other affiliates in honoring the late Brigadier General’s legacy.
