Over 2,200 Businesses Inspected as Taskforce Cracks Down on Counterfeit Goods and Smuggling

The national Taskforce on Business Malpractice is intensifying its ongoing nationwide crackdown on smuggling and the sale of counterfeit goods. In its latest update, the Taskforce reported that 2,243 businesses have been inspected to date in a sweeping operation aimed at promoting ethical commerce and public safety.

Authorities have prosecuted 203 offenders while 269 compliance notices have been issued to non-compliant businesses. In addition, over 4,315 units of counterfeit and unregulated products have been seized across multiple provinces.
