President Mnangagwa Launches Borehole Drilling and Housing Scheme in Gwanda

President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday launched the Presidential Borehole Drilling Scheme and a housing initiative in Gwanda, Matebeleland South, marking a major step in addressing water shortages and improving housing access for local communities. The initiative is part of the government’s broader plan to enhance rural development and ensure sustainable livelihoods.

The borehole drilling scheme aims to provide clean water for communities, livestock, and agricultural irrigation, supporting food security and economic stability in the region. Meanwhile, the housing scheme will deliver affordable homes, particularly for war veterans and other local residents, in recognition of their contributions to Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle.
