Minister of Tourism Barbara Rwodzi presides over Midlands prisons cookout competition

The Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Honourable Barbara Rwodzi yesterday presided over the Zmbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) Midlands Province Prisons Cook Out Competition at Kwekwe prisons.

The competition attracted twenty contestants from various prisons in the province. The participants included eight women.

The cookout competition which is the brainchild of first lady Amai Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa is an inclusive competition in line with the mantra leaving no one and no place behind mantra.

The contestants prepared traditional dishes and a province inspired dish.

Knowlege Chirenje from Kwekwe prisons scooped the first prize, followed by Rose Saithi from Shurugwi prisons.

The 3rd prize went to White Tahungai from Connemara open prisons.

The contestants received a hamper each from the First Lady Amai Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa.

Minister Rwodzi thanked the Provincial Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution – Midlands Province, Hon Owen Ncube for organizing the competition.
