Acting Auditor-General Warns Against Corrupt Practices in Accounting

Acting Auditor-General Rheah Kujinga has raised concerns over corruption in both the private and public sectors, attributing some of the scandals to qualified accountants.

Speaking at the ACCA graduation ceremony at Premier Business School (PBS), Kujinga urged graduates to uphold ethical standards, emphasizing that as ACCA professionals, they should not engage in fraudulent activities.

“We have many scandals in the private and public sectors, some perpetrated by qualified accountants. Believe me, I have seen many of these in my line of work. We don’t expect that from you as a product of PBS and as an ACCA professional,” she said.

Her remarks come amid ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and accountability in financial management across various sectors in Zimbabwe.
