Harare – ZANU-PF Harare Province Chairman, Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa, today graced an engagement with the Albinism 4 ED initiative at the party’s Provincial Headquarters, where he underscored the ruling party’s commitment to inclusive development.
Addressing attendees, Cde Masimirembwa said ZANU-PF has been central to the country’s development trajectory. “ZANU-PF has built this nation up to now,” he said, adding that the party’s guiding philosophy continues to shape Zimbabwe’s present and future.
He positioned inclusivity at the heart of national development, noting that Vision 2030 seeks to empower all citizens, including people with albinism and those living with disabilities.
Cde Masimirembwa described President Mnangagwa as “a listening President,” while reaffirming support for Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3 as part of broader governance reforms.
He further called for deeper structural inclusion within party and government systems, advocating for disability representation at the highest levels. “The position of Secretary for Disability must be held by a person with a disability,” he said, adding that more individuals with disabilities should occupy Central Committee positions.
Cde Masimirembwa also emphasized the need to align public sector employment with constitutional provisions, noting that at least 10 percent of public service positions should be reserved for people with disabilities.
Speaking at the same event, Albinism 4 ED Chairman, Cde Blessing Chikuhwa, highlighted the role of people with albinism as active contributors to national development.
“People with albinism are partners in progress and contribute meaningfully to Zimbabwe,” he said, adding that their work is guided by the National Development Strategy 2 and Vision 2030.
Cde Chikuhwa emphasized a forward-looking approach centered on empowerment through innovation and skills development. “Our children and youths will be equipped for the digital economy. Our plan rests firmly on partnership, not dependence,” he said.
