Magaya and Mliswa Disqualified from ZIFA Presidential Race Amid Integrity Test Fallout

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) presidential race took a dramatic twist as Prophet Magaya, Farai Jere, Benjani Mwaruwaru, and Temba Mliswa were disqualified after failing the integrity test.

The quartet’s bid to participate in the ZIFA presidential race was dismissed by the committee led by lawyer Muchadei Masunda.

Six candidates successfully passed the integrity test for the ZIFA presidential race.

Marshall Gore, Philemon Machana, Nqobile Magwizi, Martin Kweza, Twine Phiri, and Makwinje Phiri will tussle for the coveted leadership of the ZIFA board.

A record ten candidates cleared the integrity test for the ZIFA vice presidency.

The include Mavis Gumbo, Patience Mutumwa, Winnet Murota, Joyce R Kapota, Loveness Mukura, Kennedy Ndebele, Omega Sibanda, Peter Dube, Francis Nyamutsamba, and Simbarashe J Takava.

The ZIFA Normalisation Committee assumed control after the Felton Kamambo-led board was dismissed for various transgressions.

The upcoming elections are anticipated to bring in a new board tasked with revitalizing the administration of football and restoring order to the beautiful game.
