Shot in the arm for ZBC as it receives cars and equipment

Public broadcaster, the Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) received cars and equipment worth US$2 million dollars from the government.

The equipment which was sourced through the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion was commissioned by Dr Jenfan Muswere the Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services on Friday.

The consignment consisted of 25 vehicles and equipment for radio and television transmission.

The broadcaster also received a donation of US$100 000 from a private donor and an additional US$86 000 sourced through the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services.

The timely intervention by the government will assist the broadcaster to fulfill its mandate as per the country’s constitution.

The government has been capacitating parastatals which is a welcome initiative.
