Zimbabwe Warriors Squad Announced for Crucial AFCON Qualifiers Against Kenya and Cameroon

The Zimbabwe Warriors are gearing up for pivotal AFCON 2025 Qualifiers as Head Coach Michael Nees has announced the 23-man squad that will face off against Kenya and Cameroon in Matchdays 5 and 6.

The selected players are set to assemble for camp in Polokwane starting Sunday, November 10, as they prepare for these crucial encounters.

Coach Nees has opted for a balanced mix of experience and young talent, calling up players from both local clubs and international leagues. In goal, seasoned Washington Arubi from Marumo Gallants will join Brentford’s Marley Tavaziva and Dynamos’ Martin Mapisa, creating a solid lineup of shot-stoppers to bolster the Warriors’ defense.

The defensive unit includes prominent names such as Divine Lunga of Mamelodi Sundowns and Teenage Hadebe of FC Cincinnati, along with European-based Jordan Zemura from Udinese. These defenders will be instrumental in stifling the attacking threats posed by their opponents.

In the midfield, the Warriors will rely on Marvelous Nakamba from Luton Town and Marshall Munetsi of Stade de Reims, two experienced players with proven records in European leagues. Andy Rinomhota from Cardiff City and local talent Richard Hachiro of Ngezi Platinum will also add depth and versatility to the midfield lineup, aiming to control possession and drive play forward.

Up front, the Warriors boast a strong selection of forwards, including Tinotenda Kadewere from FC Nantes and Prince Dube from Young Africans. The squad also features Khama Billiat of Yadah FC, whose return to national duties will be eagerly anticipated by fans. With emerging talents like Tawanda Maswanhise from Motherwell and Douglas Mapfumo from Polokwane City, Zimbabwe’s attack is well-equipped to press for goals.

The Warriors face a challenging task as they take on Kenya and Cameroon, but Coach Nees and his team will be hoping to secure the points needed to advance in their AFCON 2025 campaign.

Fans across Zimbabwe will be rallying behind their squad as they look to make their mark on the continental stage.
