Apostle P. Marozva Urges Congregation to Honor and Care for Parents

Holy Ground International Church, River Side Mhundwa Village – In a stirring message delivered during Sunday service, Apostle P. Marozva emphasized the biblical mandate for Christians to honor and care for their parents, a topic he believes has been overlooked in many contemporary churches. The apostle’s passionate address resonated deeply with congregants, prompting a renewed commitment to familial responsibilities grounded in Scripture.

Apostle Marozva began his sermon by referencing Exodus 20:12, which states, “Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.” He explained that this commandment is not merely a suggestion, but a divine instruction that carries both spiritual and practical implications for believers. “To honor your parents is to recognize their role in your life and to show them respect, love, and care,” he said.

The apostle highlighted the importance of honoring parents not only through words but also through actions. He pointed to Ephesians 6:1-3, which encourages children to obey their parents in the Lord, promising that this is right and will lead to blessings. “This is a promise from God,” Marozva emphasized, “and when we neglect this duty, we may miss out on the blessings that follow.”

Throughout his message, Apostle Marozva also shared personal anecdotes and testimonies from congregation members about their experiences in caring for aging parents. He urged his followers to examine their relationships with their parents, encouraging them to reach out, express gratitude, and offer support. “It’s not enough to honor them in our hearts; we must show it through our actions,” he said. “Spend time with them, listen to their stories, and provide for their needs.”

Marozva noted that in today’s fast-paced world, many have become disconnected from their familial obligations, often prioritizing careers and personal pursuits over the needs of their parents. “As a community of believers, we must reverse this trend,” he asserted. “We have a responsibility to nurture our families, and that starts with honoring our parents.”

To underscore his point, Apostle Marozva referenced 1 Timothy 5:4, which instructs believers to care for their relatives, particularly their own households. He reminded the congregation that caring for parents in their old age is not only a sign of love but also a reflection of one’s faith in God’s teachings.

The sermon concluded with a call to action, encouraging congregants to engage in discussions about family values, create support systems for those caring for aging parents, and organize church initiatives focused on honoring and assisting families. Apostle Marozva urged everyone to recommit to this essential aspect of Christian life, highlighting that in doing so, they would be fulfilling God’s command and paving the way for blessings in their lives.

As the service ended, many congregants expressed gratitude for the timely message, reflecting on their own relationships with their parents and the importance of honoring them as a fundamental principle of their faith. Holy Ground International Church continues to foster a community that values family ties and encourages its members to uphold biblical teachings in all aspects of life.
