Economy and Development to Dominate Zanu PF Conference as Party Aims to Entrench Dominance

ZANU PF President and First Secretary, Dr ED Mnangagwa

As preparations for the Zanu PF National People’s Conference in Bulawayo intensify, the party is focusing on stabilizing the economy and aligning the nation’s development agenda with Vision 2030, through the implementation of the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS 2). National Chairperson Cde Oppah Muchinguri Kashiri emphasized that the conference will center on assessing economic challenges and evaluating policy implementation, as members critique key policies to ensure continued party dominance. Under the theme “Industrialise, Modernise Towards Vision 2030,” the conference is seen as a critical moment to address inflation, foreign exchange rates, and unemployment, all vital for creating a stable environment for investment and growth.

Delegates are expected to discuss strategies aligned with NDS 2, evaluating progress toward transforming Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030. This will provide party members with a clear understanding of their roles in achieving national goals. Critiquing policy implementation will encourage constructive dialogue, helping refine strategies, embrace innovation, and learn from past challenges. Furthermore, the party will formulate strategies to maintain political dominance amid evolving dynamics, ensuring the smooth implementation of policies.
