Zanu PF Applauds President Mnangagwa’s Appointment as SADC Chairperson

With President Mnangagwa stepping into the role of Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), Zimbabwe is poised to strengthen its position as a leader in technology and innovation. This development was highlighted by Zanu PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa, during a media briefing in Harare yesterday.

Cde Mutsvangwa reflected on the success of the recently concluded SADC Summit, which was hosted by Zimbabwe, describing it as a significant achievement for the nation. He noted that the summit saw participation from all Heads of State and Government in the region, either in person or through representation, underscoring the strong ties between SADC member countries.

“We are here to recognize the outstanding job President Mnangagwa did in hosting the SADC Summit,” said Cde Mutsvangwa. “The event was meticulously organized, and the camaraderie among the SADC nations was clearly evident.”Under President Mnangagwa’s leadership, Zimbabwe’s role within SADC is expected to emphasize industrialization and modernization, further integrating the continent into the global economy. Cde Mutsvangwa praised the President’s efforts, noting his ability to elevate Zimbabwe’s stature both regionally and internationally.

Cde Mutsvangwa also acknowledged that the summit contributed to maintaining order and peace in the region. He addressed the recent arrests of individuals involved in organizing illegal demonstrations, mentioning that they are expected to be released soon, following statements from Mr Mutsvangwa.

Additionally, the outgoing SADC Chairperson, Angola’s President João Lourenço, was commended for his leadership over the past year.Cde Mutsvangwa extended his gratitude to the local media for their role in positively portraying Zimbabwe during the summit. “Your work was a display of patriotism. We, as Zanu PF, deeply appreciate the way you carried out your duties,” he remarked.Looking ahead, Zimbabwe is set to take significant strides in technology and innovation under President Mnangagwa’s SADC leadership, reinforcing its position within the global community.
