President Biden Announces Decision Not to Seek Reelection

President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., has announced that he will not seek reelection, a decision he believes is in the best interest of his party and the country. Over the past three and a half years, Biden has overseen significant progress, positioning America as the strongest economy in the world.

During his term, Biden’s administration made historic investments in rebuilding the nation, lowered prescription drug costs for seniors, and expanded affordable health care to a record number of Americans. Additionally, the administration provided critical care to a million veterans exposed to toxic substances, passed the first gun safety law in 30 years, appointed the first African American woman to the Supreme Court, and enacted the most significant climate legislation in history.

Biden acknowledged that these achievements were made possible through the efforts and resilience of the American people. Together, the nation overcame a once-in-a-century pandemic and the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression, while also revitalizing and strengthening alliances around the world.

In his announcement, Biden expressed deep gratitude to those who supported his reelection efforts and praised Vice President Kamala Harris for her partnership. He conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the American people for their trust and emphasized the importance of unity, stating, “There is nothing America can’t do when we do it together. We just have to remember we are the United States of America.”

Biden will address the nation later this week to provide more details about his decision. For now, his focus remains on fulfilling his duties as President for the remainder of his term.
