
Zimbabwe is currently experiencing a rise in influenza-like illnesses, a typical seasonal trend as the country approaches winter. This was reported by the Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr. Douglas Mombeshora, who clarified that this increase is not related to a COVID-19 outbreak.
The number of influenza cases this year is actually lower than the same period last year, with 99,000 cases in 2024 compared to 149,000 in 2023. Furthermore, Zimbabwe has not recorded any COVID-19 cases in the past four weeks.
