Shockwaves have rocked the Zimbabwean football scene after Norman Mapeza was sacked as Scotland coach following their CAF Champions League exit in Angola.
The veteran coach’s dismissal comes as no surprise, after the team failed to progress past the preliminary stages of the continental club competition. Mapeza’s departure comes after a disappointing run, and the club is now looking for a new coach to turn things around. The team is currently eight points behind league leaders Hardrock, with only four games left, making their chances of retaining the title slim.
Mapeza’s entire coaching staff has been let go, with team manager Peter Ndlovu emerging unscathed. The former Zimbabwe national team captain has been appointed interim coach, tasked with leading the side until a permanent replacement is found.
