RUSHINGA – Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, General Emmanuel Matatu, has commissioned a modern classroom block at Mubvunduzi Secondary School in Rushinga, reaffirming the Zimbabwe Defence Forces’ commitment to supporting national development through community infrastructure projects.
The state-of-the-art classroom block was constructed by artisans from the Zimbabwe National Army Artillery Brigade in collaboration with the local community, while Mutapa Gold Resources provided the building materials that made the project possible.
Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, stakeholders commended the partnership between the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, the local community and the private sector, describing it as a model of cooperation that promotes sustainable development and improves access to quality education.
The newly commissioned classroom block is expected to ease congestion, provide a more conducive learning environment and strengthen educational infrastructure at Mubvunduzi Secondary School.
The project highlights the Zimbabwe Defence Forces’ continued role in complementing Government’s development agenda through community-based initiatives that enhance education, improve social infrastructure and uplift rural communities.
Community members welcomed the development, saying the new facilities will improve teaching and learning while contributing to the long-term growth of Mubvunduzi Secondary School and the wider Rushinga District.
The commissioning also reflects the growing importance of partnerships between Government institutions, local communities and the private sector in accelerating infrastructure development and advancing Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030 of inclusive and sustainable national development.
