President Mnangagwa noted that since Zimbabwe’s voluntary accession to the Mechanism in February 2020, the country’s continued engagement under the APRM process reinforces its position as a committed Member State.

The Head of State added that the APRM aligns directly with Zimbabwe’s national development frameworks.

“The APRM aligns with our nation’s Vision 2030 and current economic blueprint, the National Development Strategy 2, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals. These blueprints continue to guide the people of Zimbabwe in our ongoing pursuit to become a prosperous, empowered, and inclusive upper middle-income society,” President Mnangagwa said.

The President emphasised that his Government remains committed to engaging within the APRM to strengthen institutions, promote transparency, and ensure citizen participation in national development.

The launch of the Zimbabwe Chapter is expected to accelerate the country’s self-assessment processes and the implementation of recommendations aimed at improving service delivery, fighting corruption, and deepening democracy.
