Speaking at the event, Cde Songore urged fathers and communities to embrace a strong work ethic and avoid dependency, stressing that productivity is key to national development under Vision 2030.

“We must be hard workers, and as fathers we must not be lazy people,” said Cde Songore.

He highlighted Mbare’s strategic position as a major hub for trade and informal market activity, encouraging locals to fully utilise available economic opportunities rather than remaining on the sidelines.

“Mbare is the centre of all market produce, and we must take advantage of that instead of being backbenchers of the economy towards Vision 2030,” he said.

Cde Songore further encouraged citizens to pursue legitimate and transparent income-generating activities, aligning with President Mnangagwa’s development philosophy of inclusive economic participation.

“Take advantage of every opportunity in life to make clean money, as President Mnangagwa’s mantra says—leaving no place and no one behind,” he added.

The remarks were made during the Fathers 4 ED Culture Day event held in Mbare, which brought together various community affiliates under the theme of cultural preservation, social responsibility, and economic empowerment.
