The event, held in Lobamba, celebrated 40 years of the reign of King Mswati III, drawing regional leaders in a show of unity and solidarity within the Southern African region.

The President’s attendance underscores the strengthening diplomatic relations between Zimbabwe and the Kingdom of Eswatini, with both countries pursuing the revival of the Joint Permanent Commission to deepen cooperation across key sectors of their economies.

Officials say the reactivation of the bilateral platform is expected to enhance collaboration in trade, investment and other strategic areas, as both nations seek to consolidate mutually beneficial relations.

Relations between the two countries have continued to grow in recent years, highlighted by the participation of the King of Eswatini at the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair 2023, where he officially opened the exhibition, reinforcing ties between the two nations.

In his remarks during the anniversary celebrations, the King of Eswatini paid tribute to the attending Heads of State for their presence, expressing appreciation for the continued spirit of regional cooperation and solidarity.

The gathering of regional leaders at the commemorations reflects the importance of diplomatic engagement in fostering unity, stability and shared development goals across the Southern African region.
