Celebrating Zimbabwe’s Rich Heritage: A Night of Glitz and Glamour

The Baradzanwa Cultural Village was abuzz with excitement as the Nhaka Yedu, Ilifa Lethu, Our Heritage, Domestic Tourism Drive was officially launched by the Patron of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Her Excellency the First Lady of Zimbabwe, Dr. Auxillia Mnangagwa, represented by Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Hon. Barbara Rwodzi.

In her address, Minister Rwodzi highlighted the government’s vision of achieving an upper-middle-income economy by 2030, anchored on a Heritage-Based Economy. She emphasized that the Ministry’s Heritage-Based Strategy places Zimbabwe’s culture, traditions, and identity at the center of tourism development.

The event celebrated the First Lady’s visionary leadership in advancing Gastronomy Tourism, which has earned Zimbabwe global recognition. UN Tourism crowned her the Queen of Gastronomy in Africa, and UNESCO acknowledged her outstanding role in championing culture and heritage..

The evening showcased Zimbabwe’s rich cultural heritage, with performances and exhibitions highlighting the nation’s diverse traditions. The event emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Zimbabwe’s unique cultural identity, making it a must-visit destination for tourists worldwide.
