Harare, Zimbabwe – His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Cde Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has called on the revolutionary party, ZANU PF, to strengthen its people-centred approach as the nation accelerates towards Vision 2030.

Addressing the 138th Ordinary Session of the Central Committee, His Excellency underscored the need for the Party to remain anchored in the aspirations of the people, guided by discipline, unity and unwavering patriotism.

The President paid tribute to the departed national heroes recently laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre, describing them as gallant sons of the soil whose sacrifices laid the foundation for Zimbabwe’s sovereignty, unity and independence. He emphasized that the values they fought for must be actively defended and upheld by current and future generations.

In a message that blended reflection with forward-looking resolve, His Excellency highlighted that ZANU PF must continue evolving as a dynamic and forward-looking mass party, firmly rooted in the people’s needs and expectations.

“Our revolutionary mass party must be people-centred by 2030,” the President noted, reinforcing the strategic direction aligned with national development priorities.

The President further stressed that the responsibility of Party structures and leadership is to implement the resolutions of the National People’s Congress and advance the objectives of the National Development Strategy 2, which remains the country’s blueprint for economic growth, industrialisation and improved livelihoods.

Central to this mandate, he urged Party members to ensure that citizens remain well informed and actively engaged in national processes, emphasizing that improving the quality of life for all Zimbabweans is a shared responsibility.

His Excellency called for leadership that sets the tone through action, urging cadres to lead from the front while maintaining vigilance in safeguarding the gains of independence. He reiterated that discipline and adherence to Party principles are non-negotiable, describing ZANU PF as a party defined by order, structure and ideological clarity.

“All Party cadres must demonstrate discipline. We are a Party of order and rules,” he said.

The President also emphasized the importance of unity and focus, particularly in the face of global uncertainties, including ongoing geopolitical tensions in regions such as the Middle East. He called on Zimbabweans to remain motivated and resilient, ensuring that external developments do not derail national progress.

“We must remain united and focused,” His Excellency said, adding that national development is driven by the collective will of the people.

Reaffirming the enduring principle of self-determination, the President declared that Zimbabwe’s destiny lies in the hands of its citizens.

“The country is built, governed and prayed for by its people,” he said, echoing a long-standing national ethos of ownership and responsibility.

Looking ahead, His Excellency highlighted that this year’s national theme, “Zimbabwe @ 46,” provides an opportunity to reflect on the country’s journey since independence while consolidating gains and accelerating development.

As Zimbabwe continues on its path towards Vision 2030, the President’s address reinforced the central role of unity, discipline and people-driven governance in shaping a prosperous and resilient nation.
