The Zimbabwe National Water Authority (ZINWA) has issued an advisory warning citizens that Tugwi-Mukosi and Manjirenji Dams have reached full capacity and are spilling due to heavy rainfall in the southern regions of the country.
In a statement, ZINWA said it has begun controlled water releases to manage water levels, but warned people living downstream to be cautious of increased water flows and possible flooding. Communities have been urged to be vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid casualties.
The authority reiterated previous warnings, advising the public to avoid crossing flooded rivers, supervise children, and keep them away from riverbanks. ZINWA committed to continue monitoring water levels and providing periodic updates to keep the public informed.
