NetOne Strengthens Institutional Partnerships Through Support for ZPCS Stakeholder Engagement Tournament

HARARE, Zimbabwe’s state-owned telecommunications operator NetOne has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening national partnerships and institutional collaboration following its participation in the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service Stakeholder Engagement Golf Tournament held at the ZRP Golf Club.

The event formed part of broader stakeholder engagement initiatives designed to promote collaboration, institutional growth, and socio-economic transformation across key public sector institutions. Representing the NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer Raphael Mushanawani, company official Mr. Chirindo highlighted the organisation’s continued focus on building strategic relationships that support Zimbabwe’s national development agenda.

The tournament was hosted under the leadership of Moses Chihobvu, Commissioner-General of the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service, and brought together a wide range of stakeholders from government, business, and civic institutions. The platform served not only as a networking opportunity but also as a mechanism to strengthen cooperation in areas related to rehabilitation, wellness, and reintegration within the correctional services system.

Stakeholder engagement events such as the tournament have increasingly become important platforms for fostering dialogue and partnership among institutions that contribute to national development. By creating opportunities for interaction outside formal administrative settings, these initiatives encourage collaborative thinking and shared responsibility in addressing social and institutional challenges.

Officials noted that such engagements align with the objectives of National Development Strategy 2, which emphasizes multi-sector partnerships and coordinated institutional efforts as critical drivers for achieving sustainable economic growth and social transformation.

As Zimbabwe’s home-grown telecommunications provider, NetOne has positioned itself as a strategic partner to national institutions by supporting platforms that encourage cooperation, capacity building, and innovation. Through initiatives under its Stakeholder Engagement Pillar, the company continues to strengthen relationships with key sectors of the economy, including security services, government agencies, and community organizations.

Industry observers say partnerships between telecommunications companies and national institutions are increasingly important in the digital era, where connectivity and technological infrastructure play a central role in improving institutional efficiency and service delivery.

Through sustained engagement with stakeholders and participation in national platforms, NetOne says it remains committed to contributing to Zimbabwe’s broader socio-economic development objectives and supporting the country’s long-term aspirations under Vision 2030, which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy.
